The best way to experience the full thrill of conquering the slopes of Mt. Kanin is on our expert workshops learning the techniques of safe skiing/boarding in deep snow off piste.

With our expert guidance you can safely explore the best kept secret slopes on the mountain and benefit from the knowledge of our expert guides who are always there to help you gain new skills. Workshops include lessons in freeride techniques, safe movement in the mountains in winter, avalanche awareness and use of avalanche equipment. Package includes 4 days of skiing or snowboarding including 3 days of workshop.

Whether by day or night, sledging from the road below Mangart; one of Slovenia’s most beautiful mountains, provides a really exciting and safe way of discovering the natural winter delights of this winter wonderland. By day we can take in the magnificent vistas from this beautiful mountain; or by night it offers a different experience as we guide our sledges under a vast starry sky with only the moon and a headlamp to light up the way.

Imagine the dogs, bursting with energy, adrenaline pumping waiting for the driver’s ‘mushing’ call….and after a loud command we are off…picking up speed quickly the dogs pulling the ropes as snow dust swirls all around. This is an exhilarating activity where you can enjoy an age-old mode of travel used by ancient tribesmen whizzing over the snow across a beautiful winter landscape. In the absence of mechanised sound interrupting the silence, we will travel on trails amidst snow covered mountains and forests and all you will hear is yelps of canine enthusiasm as your sleigh moves across the snow – a wonderful experience for active families or adult groups.

Dog sledding or Mushing is the practice of harnessing dogs to a sled for the purpose of recreation or transport and it is also practiced as a competitive sport. The term mushing comes from the call used to goad the dogs – “Mush!” It is thought to derive from the French marche, meaning “go” or “run,” but “Hut!” is a more commonly heard call in the sport of mushing today. The driver or ‘musher’ stands behind the dogs on runners and dog speed and direction is controlled by voice commands alone without the use of reins.

Dog sled teams are comprised of leader dogs, swing dogs and wheel dogs. The lead dogs operate at the front and are chosen for their bravery and courage, behind them the swing dogs help with turning and direction and wheel dogs provide the brute strength required to break the sled out from the snow.

We spend time at the beginning for teaching you all that is necessary to get going, and follow up with further instructions as we go along.

You will get used to them. Our dogs are very friendly, even the more reserved ones. You are most likely to be very attached to the animals here. Allergies are often no problem with these huskies living outside in the snow and the cold.

Hopefully a lot. You are welcome to visit the dog yard any time. The dogs love for people to come and “disturb” them as many have expressed it. You will be handling the dogs all the time. Harnessing, putting on booties, driving, controlling lines, fixing and mixing, helping feeding.

As an alternative to dog sledding and subject to prevailing weather conditions ie it is not too windy; we can offer an exhilarating experience at the Zip-Line Park near the slopes of the Kanin Ski Centre.

Fly 2.4 km, 40-60 km/h, 130-200 metres above ground!

Be one of the first to try out the new giant Zip-Line Park in Slovenia! Slovenia has got one of Europe’s best zip-line parks with amazing views of the Soca Valley. The unparalleled views of the Soča river, Soča Valley and Bovec is guaranteed to take your breath away. The Zip-line park is located in the Alpine valley of Krnica on the edge of Mt Kanin, renowned as Slovenia’s highest ski resort!

Zip-lining is similar to a theme park ride and consists of a pulley suspended under a cable spanning between two high points. There is no engine and gravity alone will pull you along between designated points.

The zip-line adventure begins with a drive up the mountainside in the instructor’s 4×4 car and the car drive is in itself worth the money for it’s 10km scenic mountain views. Once we reach the start of the Zip-line, you will be harnessed onto the zip-wire and prepared for your flight. Suspended above the trees you will whizz down the line to the base of the mountain. The zip-lines are in total 2.4 kilometres long, comprising of 4 lines approximately 500 metres each. The estimated top speed is 40 – 60 km/h and you will be flying 130 – 200 metres above the ground   No particular fitness level or special skills are required – you only need a strong heart, a sense of adventure and a willingness to have a go!

• Minimum age is 12 years and the dress code is strictly ‘comfortable clothes’.

1. Bookings can be cancelled free of charge within 7 days of your booking. Your payment will be refunded in full.
2. Cancelling 60 to 30 days prior to departure incurs a charge of 50% of the total booking value.
3. Bookings cancelled less than 30 days prior to departure cannot be refunded.
